Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Eleidon ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

Eleidon is a secure messaging platform designed to protect your communications through end-to-end encryption and trust-based contact management.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Eleidon. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Your Account

Account Creation

To use Eleidon, you must create an account with a unique address. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information during registration
  • Maintaining the security of your password and recovery phrase
  • All activities that occur under your account

Recovery Phrase

Your recovery phrase is the only way to recover your account if you lose access. We cannot recover your account without it. You are solely responsible for securely storing your recovery phrase.

Account Security

You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Eleidon to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or harass others
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
  • Engage in fraud, phishing, or deceptive practices
  • Transmit illegal content, including child exploitation material
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use the Service for any purpose that violates the rights of others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Trust System

Eleidon operates on a mutual trust model. You can only exchange messages with users who have accepted your trust request and whose trust request you have accepted. This system is designed to prevent unsolicited messages and protect your inbox.

You are responsible for carefully reviewing trust requests before accepting them.

6. Subscription Plans

Free Plan

The free plan includes an @eleidon address and unlimited messaging. Features may be limited compared to paid plans.

Paid Plans (Shield, Shield + Vault)

Paid plans are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time, and your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

7. Intellectual Property

The Eleidon service, including its design, features, and technology, is owned by Eleidon and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

You retain ownership of any content you send through Eleidon. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to transmit and store your encrypted content as necessary to provide the Service.

8. End-to-End Encryption

Eleidon uses end-to-end encryption, which means we cannot read your messages. While this provides strong privacy protection, it also means:

  • We cannot recover messages if you lose your encryption keys
  • We cannot comply with requests to provide message content
  • You are responsible for maintaining access to your encryption keys

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ELEIDON SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through the settings page. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Eleidon operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
